about bitner training

Our Purpose

Bitner Training provides training and education in the defensive use of firearms as well as personal and organizational security training.  We are based in the South Kansas City area and focus on providing basic skills to students who are just starting out- but encourage shooters at all skill levels to continue training.

Training Philosophy

1 Safety cannot be compromised.  Safe rules of gun handling always apply.

2 The basics are always the basics.

3 All firearms handling techniques are designed to build defensive shooting skills.  Although these skills can be used for recreational shooting or refined for competition shooting, we want people to learn skills that can be efficiently and reactively used in self defense situations.

4 Speed and accuracy are complementary, not competitive.  “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
